I’d love to see a third option for the yes/no icon beyond the thumbs up/down and check/x because both feel like they have a judgement attached to the “no” response (particularly the thumbs down). Is it possible to add a third option for better UX?

Yes! this is something we have been receiving recently and I will pass this on to my Product team

As a workaround, I would suggest you uncheck required so that the respondents can skip the question without answering 
.

I like this thumb up, thumb down image, but was thinking a real pity that it cannot set score to it..

Currently, we don't have scores for yes or no questions but as a workaround, you can use a picture-type question and add the score to the images. The below image is for reference
