It would be helpful to add an optional comment box for each rating question so that survey respondents can contextualize their ratings, which will help with results interpretation. As is, we need to add a completely separate comment question for each rating question, which feels like double the questions to survey takers. With an “Add Comment” button next to each rating question, respondents don’t see the comment question unless they choose to click and provide a comment. Employee experience survey companies (e.g., Culture Amp, Glint) offer this and it would be really valuable if SurveySparrow could add it.
Hi OrgAcuity!
A warm welcome to the SurveySparrow Community!
You can absolutely achieve what you're looking for— add a rating question -- alongside a open-ended text question on the same page—using our "single page form" feature. Here's how you can set it up:
Add both your rating and text questions within the same section of your survey.
Head over to the settings and enable the "Single Page Form" option.
And voilà! Your respondents will see both questions neatly displayed on the same page, and you can make the text question optional if needed.
If you’d like a more detailed walkthrough or run into any hiccups, feel free to reach out to us at support@surveysparrow.com. We’re here to help!
Happy surveying!
Thanks for the quick response. The recommended approach unfortunately still creates the appearance of separate questions for ratings and open-ended comments, rather than an optional comment dialogue attached to a particular rating item. The attached screen print illustrates what we are trying to achieve so that there are not 2X the number of questions shown to survey takers. Is this a feature that can be added?
